9 Orphans
Nine orphan ducklings were taken in at DVWR. They will join another brood that had the same misfortune of their mother being hit by car. Prognosis for all the little ones is excellent!

Rare for Nevada
Look what springtime brought to DVWR, a fledgling Saw-whet Owl! Rare for Nevada, Saw-Whet owls are only 8″ tall when full grown.
Jackrabbit on the mend.
Evelyn placed a splint on the leg of this young jackrabbit to facilitate the healing process. Prognosis is excellent.
Short-eared Owl
Seen in the daytime more often than other owls, it was a brief stay for this Short-eared Owl.
One More Baby
A sleepy baby Swainson’s Hawk arrived at DVWR. A very kindly bird lover and member of the Audubon Society found the hawk that had been blown from its nest in Elko and together they drove to Fallon!
